Thanks marc. I guess I'd better let the robot sink more of my ships! I looked through the game info, but was looking for diagrams of the power ups.

Hi faith, yes it does exist.

Tomahawk Powerup - This powerful powerup shoots 9 shots in a 3x3 area. You can only get this powerup when you have very few ships remaining. Only Club Pogo players can get this powerup, though it can be stolen with the Counter Attack.

Battleship • The Mysterious Tomahawk Power-Up

By faith552 » April 22nd, 2015, 12:04 pm

A few days ago, I reached rank 35, which gave me a new power up. It is the tomahawk (missle?). I have played many games since achieving it, but it has never shown up on my playing board. Does it really exist?

Thanks for your patience and for going the "extra mile" to help me with my recent gaming issues. I went to the page about game size (for Windows 7, Firefox) and opened the Battleship room window. The instructions say to click in the lower right-hand corner, but that didn't work, so I clicked on the address bar and the Ctrl + or - worked that way and I got my window back to looking normal again. I knew about Ctrl + or -, but didn't think to use it in a popup window.. doh!

I have my game windows set to use imbedded, but I didn't realize that Battleship was available that way. I will have to re-check my settings.

Thanks to you, I am (just about) normal again! Still working on the Monopoly WE (imbedded) game board size. I usually figure things out on my own, but as you can tell, my frustration threshold is a little on the lower side. ;)

Faith, I moved your posts into a new thread because the other thread is only to gather information.
Here are some more things that may help. The article below mentions Scrabble but it will show you how to set your games to not pop up in a separate window. That could be one of the things causing your problem. It has nothing to do with having the latest version of Firefox:

Issues When Playing In Pop Up Window

Also check your browser's zoom. Click on the three horizontal lines at the top right side of your page.
Your zoom will appear under Cut, Copy, and Paste. Make sure that it is set at 100 percent.

See if those help you.

Thanks Mod_Jada. When I updated my Firefox, I had to start new on everything. I was so busy being frustrated, I didn't think to look to see where I was.

Now that I've updated FF, the images in the room popup window are too large. The room info is on one level and the rooms start down beneath them requiring to scroll down. I have tinkered with the zoom, but it doesn't affect the popup windows. On the imbedded windows like Monopoly WE, the game board is smaller than before and when I zoom, everything but the game board zooms in. Now I get to play Monopoly on a tiny board. That is why I chose to keep FF v.21. as mentioned before. So now, both of my favorite games are ... xxxxxx. I give up.

Browser = Firefox 36.0
Cookies Enabled? = true
Do Not Track = 1
Resolution = 1536 x 864
OS = Windows 7
Flash version = 17.0.0
Java Versions installed = 1.8.0_40

Upon opening the room window I had to "allow" java in 2 different drop down menus. I had to scroll down to find the rooms. After that, the game board opened and it was very large with the regular sized game board.

I played against a robot. We only had 4 shots instead of 5. No matter how many of the robot's ships I sank, he still had 4 shots. A few times on the 3rd or 4th round, I got 6 shots... just one time, then back to 4 shots.

I exited the game a few times and if I didn't choose the correct "allow java" (allow and save) on the menu, the window filled with a message that my java isn't up to date. The first time, even though I just updated about 2 days ago, I went ahead and updated again.. with the same version I had already. The second time I got that message, I did a version check which indicated I have the latest.

I would really like to get back to playing this game. It's one of my favorites and although this may sound strange to some people, playing this game for about an hour while I wake up and eat breakfast is an important part of my day.

With the robot getting 4 shots no matter how many of his ship I sink spoils the entire experience.

Later: I just went back and checked again. The Options window says 4 shots. It's all in gray and I can't change it. How do you change that. I play in private room with robots and I DO NOT use the "Play Robots" link.

And: Where would one change the do not track option. I have no idea where that came from or how it is set for do not track.

Never mind.. I found it and changed it. Now back to Battleship to try again.

And later again: Nothing changed. Still the robot gets 4 shots even when there's only one ship left. I've done everything that was suggested, even making a major change with my browser which messes up my online experience, but still the game POGO. If everyone else is playing this game without any problems I would sure like to know how they are doing it.

And one more time: I just went through and read all the postings. Mine is the only one that addresses any game-play problems. The rest are about a certain challenge or changing the playing options. Does this mean I am the ONLY one with problems playing the game?

I am so frustrated, I'm done!

Let me try to explain a few things.
Firefox is the browser I use most and I have the latest version. All the games are working for me.
Updating your browser's version is very important for security and other reasons.

Battleship is still a Java game. I mentioned your Flash because it needs to be updated for the same reasons as your browser and Java.

"Do Not Track" can block communicate between the Pogo servers and your browser. You won't be able to load games when that happens.

Also, if you have any browser add-ons that block ads, cookies, and scripting, that will also interfere with the games.

Firefox can be stubborn at times. Click on Tools _ Add Ons - Plug Ins. It should say "Always Activate" next to Java.

When you try to load a game take a look up at your address bar. In front of the address you will see a black or gray icon that looks like a lego block. Click on that icon and allow the plug in from the drop down menu. You may have to do that a few times but your game should load after that.

Sometimes clicking directly on the white screen will get a game to load.

However, the above suggestions may not help unless you update your browser.

Browser = Firefox 21.0
Cookies Enabled? = true
Do Not Track = yes
Resolution = 1920 x 1080

Flash version = 16.0.0

Probably after you update a few things.
Your Firefox version is extremely outdated. The latest version is Firefox 36.0.1.
Also take off the Do Not Track as that could interfere with the games.
Lastly, your Flash needs to be updated as well.

Thank you. I choose not to update Firefox because of technical issues that nobody seems to know how to fix. It has never caused a compatibility issue.

So, Battleship uses both Flash and Java? I just checked all my plugins so Flash must have changed in the past few days.

Do not track has never been an issue with any of the Pogo games I play.

Having people post their system info is okay, but then there's always something for Pogo to BLAME IT ON THE PLAYER since very little of this info is relevant to the present issue.
