Connect 4, the original checker-stacking game comes to life on Pogo.com with new challenges and more ways to play. Score four in a row to win this free online board game!

Start by trying to connect many rows of 3s that way you only need your opponent to make 1 mistake and you win.

You are definitely going to want to watch out for any 3 in a row pieces your opponent might have. Remember they can be vertical, horizontal, or diagonal so watch out.

If you can try to set it up so that your opponent has to choose which connect 4 to stop. A good way to do this is to set up 3 in a row where there is a free space on either side.

If you set up 2 critical points on top of each other the game is as good as yours. Because if they try to stop 1 you can just play your piece on tip of their and win.

Connect 4 • Re: Question about Power Chips mode

I've never seen it either. But, then I play on Novice and don't spend much time playing the game. I'm sorry if I gave bad info.

I also see the computer play power chips (except for the 2X one) but I also play on genius level and a 100 point game. If you play at a lower level or a lower score, they may not have time to use one.

How many may depend on how "smart" you make your AI opponent. I've only played Novice but it regularly blocks my moves and knocks out my columns.

I tried three different browsers last evening and two more this evening and I have yet to see my computer opponent play a power chip. I am guessing this is not a browser problem and whatever it is, just call me... clueless.

Thank you, Kyra, and thank you all for your feedback. ;)

I am pretty sure when I played connect 4 in power chip mode before the computer has used the power up power chips before.

edit to add I just went and played a game in power chip mode and the computer was using the power chip power ups

Wow, now I am all confused. lol

Kermit, can you tell me what browser you're using and did you play the Novice CPU opponent?

Thank you, CAGal, for your reply. I was so hoping that was the case. I don't want an unfair advantage because of a glitch and it's nice to know it's not a glitch! :D

Connect 4 • Question about Power Chips mode

By meetmeinstlouis » February 16th, 2018, 6:10 am

I have a question about the power chips mode.

I have never played this game much and I just recently played the power chips mode for the first time.

Why is it that when I play this mode, my computer opponent never plays any power chips - is it a glitch?

I have two personals left in this game and both of these challenges require playing the power chips version of the game and this inquiring mind would like to know... thank you

Hmm!! After I win one or two games and click on continue it will not continue and I have to start over. I don't lose the games I've won and my flash is clear.
Any ideas?

Connect 4 • Re: Connect 4 Not Giving 3000 Credit for Thursday Game

By Mod_Jada » November 3rd, 2017, 7:31 pm

You most likely got the tokens without realizing it because they are slow to update on the home page.

Hover your mouse pointer over your browser's icon on your taskbar and see if the award pop up is hiding.

Here's what to do if this happens again:

Write down your token count and then go to the first bonus game.
Make sure you close out the award pop up before you go to the second bonus game.
Repeat the process if there is a third bonus game.

Sign out of Pogo and close your browser after going to all of the bonus games.
Restart your browser, sign back in, go to any other game on the site and when that game loads you will see your updated token count.

You can also see that you've been given the tokens by doing the following:

After you close out the pop up on the last game, click the BLOG tab at the top of the page.
Scroll down and look at the right hand side of the page.
Under "Earn Free Gems" - click Get Gems.
That page updates quickly and accurately.
Click on your screen name at the top of the page.
That will bring you back to your Profile page where you will see the updated token amount.

Connect 4 • Connect 4 Not Giving 3000 Credit for Thursday Game

By katcc3 » November 3rd, 2017, 4:43 pm

Because none of the forum posts I looked through were from 11/3/17 I could not find an answer.
I played the game and never saw the 3000 tokens.

I really wish there was a Smiles for Not Surprised.

Thank You

Is there a way to set up this game so that you can play against another player?
