Poker is a card game for up to four players. The object of draw poker is to have the highest ranking hand at the end of two betting rounds. The player with the highest hand wins all of the tokens that have been placed in the pot.

At the start of this free online classic poker game, players are dealt five cards. There is then one round of betting, in which players can place new bets, match the current bet (known as "calling"), raise the amount of the current bet, or stop betting and drop out of the hand (known as "folding").

Once all High Stakes Poker players have either bet the same amount of tokens or folded, all players remaining in the game have an opportunity to discard unwanted cards from their hand and draw new ones in their place.

After all players are done discarding unwanted cards and drawing new ones, there is a second round of betting that works much like the first round, except that betting increments are doubled.

Once this second round of betting is over, all players who are left in the game reveal their hands. The player with the highest ranked hand wins all the money that is left in the pot.

When you win a hand, one gold coin lights up under your cards. If you can light up all four coins, you will receive a Jackpot spin!

You're going to be winning and losing real tokens when you play any of the "Roller" rooms! We recommend you practice first by playing in one of the Just For Fun rooms until you're comfortable with the game and the betting process.

Here are some tips and tricks to help you enjoy a game of free online classic poker with your friends.

At the beginning of the High Stakes Poker game, the dealer has the option to decide if 2s are wild.

The dealer is presented with a dialogue box that asks, "Would you like to make 2s wild?" along with a "Yes" and "No" button. Selecting yes or no will or will not make 2s wild for the duration of that hand.

The dialogue box also contains a checkbox that says, "Don't show me this again." If you check this box, the game will take your answer and use that for all future hands while you are sitting at this table. For example, checking this box and then selecting "Yes" will make 2s wild for any future hand in which you are the dealer.

You cannot make any other card wild besides 2s.

@booksbkk: What do you mean by dead links? What happens when you click on a room name?
Does it take you to the room? Do you see the tables?

OH, OK, so where do I go to gather some information, about how to be able to play the game from the lobby, to a game room?? Your game is not working. I wrote the details in my previous post, but no one has replied, so is this thread only for your information gathering?

Why is it that I cannot choose a specific room in this game, nor in high stake pool?
The rooms are dead links, yet show players in those rooms.
I can only click on [play people] or [play robots], and then I can only play robots, because there are no people in the room it gives me and only gives me the option to wait or leave. I cannot get to the lobby at all.

High Stakes Poker • Re: Folding

By dawgwazup1 » April 7th, 2015, 2:51 pm

I agree, with folding when no possible outcome could occur other than losing more tokens. One person just called me 'POGO" because I put in 25, and then folded when I took my cards in return for discards. My answer to this is" When you pay my POGO yearly bill, then you can tell me how to play!!!

You will need to select a room from the list that has the little blue-and-yellow "P" icon that indicates it's a Club only room. These are the rooms that are usually located near the top of the list.

High Stakes Poker • Re: Folding

By kayaker1358 » March 15th, 2015, 3:42 pm

I like all the Poker games. I wish people who think poker should be played only their way not be rude and make comments
as such during the game. I dont like to waste tokens by over betting, I am not super competitive and do a lot of bluffing
Lets just play the game for fun. If you like to bluff or bet crazily, do so with like minded people. I know how to play but
I go by instinct and not with the poker odds or probabilities. And the robots bet like crazy also, so I dont play with them
very often either.

High Stakes Poker • Folding

By TATERO1 » February 25th, 2015, 8:02 pm

I have won with less than a 9 high. Sometimes everyone folds before I do, and sometimes what I have no pair, the highest card I have wins. If I have nothing and others bet, I will fold. It ain't over 'til it's over.

If I have a really crummy hand, I fold simply to save time. No use waiting to see my hand that is 9 high with no pair of anything! LOL
