The basic goal in all Mini Golf games is to sink the ball into the cup in the fewest shots possible, and Mini Golf Madness is no exception to that rule. The fewer shots it takes to sink the ball, the better your score and the more Tokens you'll win.

Unlike most other Pogo games, Mini Golf Madness features a menu system that allows you to choose which course you'd like to play.

There are two kinds of courses:
- "Standard" Pogo courses: These courses are always available, and the list will grow over time. There will be a total of four courses available to start (including one Club Pogo-exclusive course), but new courses will be added over time, so keep coming back to look for more new holes to play! Club Pogo members will have access to more exclusive Mini Golf Madness courses over time.

- "Weekly" courses: As you might expect from the name, these courses are generated every week by randomly pulling holes from the current "Standard" courses. That means you'll see holes you've already played before but in an entirely different order than you're used to, making for a whole new game experience! Weekly courses will be available for several months before being cleared from the list.

You can see how difficult a course is in one of two ways - either by reading the course description, or by looking at the icon to the right of the course name. A bronze ball represents an easy course, a silver ball represents a medium course, and a gold ball represents a hard course.

Once you've selected the course you want to play, you can choose from 3 different options: Front 9, Back 9, or Full Course. Playing the front or back 9 is good for practicing and honing your Mini Golf game skills, but you won't get a Jackpot Spin unless you play through a full 18-hole course. Some future courses may only have 9 holes - in that case only the Full Course button will be available.

So before you can shoot the ball, you have to place the ball on the tee. When you start a new hole, the game will give you some information about new elements you haven't seen before. After clearing out these dialogs, you'll have the opportunity to place the ball anywhere on the tee. Of course, before you decide where to tee up, you might want to know more about the hole - like the best path to approach from.

The camera starts zoomed as far from the hole as possible, but you can zoom into the hole to focus down on whatever details you find most important. There are a few ways to do this using the Zoom Meter, which is located on the golf bag in the lower-right corner of the screen. You can either click the +/- signs at the top and bottom of the bar, grab and drag the Zoom slider, or click anywhere along the Zoom bar to instantly move to that zoom level. You can also roll the mouse wheel to quickly and easily adjust the zoom level. Clicking the mouse wheel button will return the camera to the most zoomed out view.

The interface for shooting the ball in Mini Golf Madness is fairly simple - move the aiming line where you want the ball to go, pull away from the ball to set the strength of your shot, then click the left mouse button to shoot. Simple, right? Don't worry about inadvertently shooting the ball when you click to pan the screen, either - we detect movement before you release the mouse button, so you won't shoot by accident.

Just like regular Mini Golf, the lower your score, the better you're doing. Each hole has a "Par" setting, which tells you the average number of "strokes" expected to complete the hole - shooting more shots than that puts you over Par, while shooting less puts you under Par. No matter what the Par value of the hole is, the rating of your success is the same, according to this chart.

Here are some tips and tricks to becoming an expert at Mini Golf games.

If you're new to the game, take a minute to get a feel for the Mini Golf Madness interface.Aiming and shooting is pretty simple, but get used to hitting shots of different speeds and see how the ball responds. Also, try panning and zooming around the first few holes to get used to the controls - once you've got that down, it will make things a lot easier as you play on.

You probably won't get an amazing score the first time through a new course, but that's okay! They're meant to be difficult to master, but it is possible to score below Par - sometimes even more than one shot below Par - on each and every hole in the game. (Trust us, we built them!)

Pay close attention to how the ball bounces off walls and obstacles, and especially what happens to the ball when it rolls over course features like sand, rough, and ice. You'll have to take the effect of these hazards into account on most shots in order to get good scores in Mini Golf Madness.

On certain shots (especially from the tee), it may be possible to align the aiming vector with a landmark - such as a particular bend in a wall or nearby obstacle - to help you line up a reliable shot.

If you're close to the cup, be careful with how hard you shoot the ball. It is possible for the ball to go so fast that it loops around or "skips" over the cup.

It's easy to forget about your power-ups sometimes in Mini Golf Madness, but that would be a crying shame - some of them can really help you out when the situation calls for it. If you forget what they do, just mouse over a power-up icon to see its description again.

Playing a 9-hole course won't get you a Jackpot Spin, but it will give you an opportunity to play a specific set of holes over and over until you master them. You'll still win Tokens and earn rank progress, too!

Pogo's explained that a few times; I imagine you can dig it out of News archives, probably LTTE column.

The short answer is that you only get credited for the better shot. A hole in one is the better shot over an under par shot. The hole must have a par of 3 or more to received credit for under par for any badges with that requirement.

Yes I did check the book. And there's nothing in my stats about holes under par. Why would not a hole in one count towards a hole under par ? lol It is after all a hole thats under par.

what's it say in your stats for how many holes under par. also pretty sure hole in ones don't count towards the 99 holes under par

also have you check your game award badges to make sure you didn't receive it

Mini Golf Madness • Earned Badge

By absolutelyhot2 » April 30th, 2015, 4:17 pm

I would like to know if I'm incorrect in thinking I earned a badge in Mini Golf Madness? Its the Bird's Eye Badge, for going at least 99 holes under par. I have 61 birdies and 137 holes in one. To me that is close to 200 holes under par.

Mini Golf Madness • Re: No bonus tokens or golden egg pop up

By PCTime4MeTo » April 7th, 2015, 7:13 pm

I got 3 out of 5 items. I went to the mini mall, I already have the egg costume. I either got it from the past.. in my costumes tab, its many pages back. So I guess I got the other 2 sometime in the past.

Check your 'my items' in your mini mall to see if you already have the items too. For some reason though, it didn't give me a hint for the next clue, even though I had 2 of the items. It should in my opinion. Cannot finish without a clue. But I did a search online and found the clues that way. I only looked up 1, others were very obvious.
Thanks

If you wait long enough in the game, the next clue will show up in chat.

I played the entire front 9 and finished... still no pop up. So many glitches in POGO since I came back 2 1/2 weeks ago after a year of not playing. SO... what now?? How can I go on, like some if I don't know the next clue? Anyone?

I didn't get a pop up either. Apparently that is because I already had the prize for that game (old mini item that was recycled for this promotion as a prize). I played the first 9 also, then sat in the room until the clue was posted in chat - about 10 to 15 minutes.

To expedite things for you, the clue is:

This potted pop star is always game for some eggsplosive fun.

If you don't get the answer from the clue, it is

Poppit!

How did you go on to the next clue, if you didn't get it in this game - mini golf? I cannot go on, I didn't get anything, not even a hint. :( Anyone help?

Crosswords- Picnic Basket (goodie)
Minigolf - Bunny House (background)
Poppit - egg Zactly (costume)
Bingo Luau - Fruit & Blooms (bakcground)
Rainy Day Spider - Formal Gardens (background)

The Easter Egg Hunt is still available to those who did not participate in the hunt yesterday. I know this because I just completed doing the hunt in this Screen Name and received the backgrounds and the picnic goodie. However, those who have already received those Mini Mall items at any earlier time will not receive them again. Also, apparently ,if you already owned the mini gift, you won't the get the pop-up or the tokens.
