Limit Mode
Limit Mode is a more casual version of No Limit Texas Hold ‘em.  It features a simplified betting system, the ability to join a game in progress, and the option to re-stake and continue playing when out of chips.  Limit Mode does not utilize the ratings feature.

No Limit Mode
No Limit Mode is a tournament-style Hold 'em poker game geared towards the more serious poker player.  In this mode, players stake once and play until only player remains.  Furthermore, betting is wide-open; the user can raise up to his entire stake at any time!  Four players are required to start a game, which gains intensity over time via increasing blinds.  Games can be rated and further regulated by a "rating required" option, which allows players to group by similar skill levels.

Jackpot & Tokens
There are two ways you can earn a Jackpot spin:
  • In Limit Mode, you must win 4 hands (spelling S P I N at the bottom of the screen).
  • In No Limit Mode, you win a Jackpot Spin by being the last player remaining.
The Jackpot Spinner spins like a slot machine. When it stops spinning, you'll win the prize indicated on the spinner or perhaps the JACKPOT itself! Members of Club Pogo are eligible for DOUBLE JACKPOTS!

Stakes & Tables
When you sit down at a table, you will contribute some of your token balance into your "Stake". This represents the amount of tokens you set aside for betting. All players who sit down at a table use the same stake. In this poker game, the nice thing about using a stake instead of your total token balance is that a player with a thousand tokens can play a player with a million tokens and it's still easy to tell who's ahead in the betting.

Practice First!
You're going to be winning and losing real tokens when you play any of the "Roller" rooms. Further, your entire stake is committed in No Limit Mode (that is, you don’t get your stake back unless you win the game; leaving early forfeits all your tokens!). We recommend you practice first by playing in one of the Just For Fun rooms until you're comfortable with the game and the betting process.

Going All-In (No Limit Mode Only):
There is one case where all betting will cease and the remaining community cards will be revealed without further betting.  This occurs when at least one player bets all his tokens, at least one other person calls, and there is no one left with tokens to bet. At this point, since no more bets can be made, the player’s cards are revealed as are the remaining community cards.  The winner is then decided in what is usually a dramatic Showdown.

Hand Rankings:
When hands are revealed, the player with the highest hand wins. Here is a list of the possible hands you could make in poker, listed from highest to lowest.

Straight Flush - Five cards in sequence that are all the same suit. A Royal Flush is a special type of Straight Flush that goes from 10 to Ace.

Four of a Kind - Four cards of the same rank.

Full House - A three of a kind and a pair in the same hand.

Flush - Any five cards of the same suit, but not in sequence.

Straight - A sequence of cards in any suit. Please note that for a Straight, an Ace can be high or low, but it cannot "wrap around". In other words, A-2-3-4-5 is a straight, and 10-J-Q-K-A is a straight, but Q-K-A-2-3 is not.

Three of a Kind - Three cards of the same rank

Two Pair - Two different pairs of cards

One Pair - One pair of cards of the same rank (e.g. Two fours)

High Card - The highest card in your hand.

No Limit Texas Hold'em • Re: Unpaid Tokens

There' a long time glitch that causes that to happen if your last remaining opponent leaves the game before your tokens are awarded.

I'm sorry that there's not a better answer.

No Limit Texas Hold'em • Unpaid Tokens

By ol3putt » February 24th, 2018, 4:12 am

I just won a game. Not only did I not receive 20,000 tokens, Pogo charged me 10,000 tokens to play. What a rip off

Thank you for that tip... I thought we HAD to play bots in order to activate/use these badges (remembering several others in past that would not work with real players). So I explored playing in high rollers and amazingly it only took 3 or 4 winning hands to achieve the Desperado badge! Thanks so much!

No Limit Texas Hold'em • Re: Where's the No Limit Texas Hold'em room "Big Baby"

It has occurred to me since I started this thread, that it might disappear when there are 125 people (capacity).

Sometimes, it does not show up. You have to use the search box and type "Big" and it will come up, just select it and go.

Big Baby is showing as having 124 people in it right now. Are you looking in the right place? No Limit Tournament Game mode, High Rollers?

No Limit Texas Hold'em • Where's the No Limit Texas Hold'em room "Big Baby"

By hochsethberg » February 16th, 2018, 9:54 pm

Usually the "Big Baby" room is the one with all the players but I haven't seen it there in a while. No other room has more than 15 players, while the Big Baby would generally be over 100.

Any reason why?

From another thread:

Seska42 wrote:That's a glitch that's been around for a while. It seems to happen when the person in 2nd place leaves the game before the system has finished registering the win.

There's no estimate on when Pogo might get it fixed.

You could ask the players before the game starts to please stay until the win is registered but there is no guarantee they will listen to your request.

No Limit Texas Hold'em • No Jackpot Spin After Win

By karaluna59 » February 7th, 2018, 11:43 pm

I am a free member.

This has happened several times. I will win the game, there will be no jackpot spin, and the box with all the stats does not come up.

It simply asks me if I want to play again. I asked in the game area. One person said that not all games are rated. Others said all games are rated, but it's a Pogo trick so I don't get credit for my stats.

I am very confused. Why did this happen, and do I still get my tokens?

If it's a known Pogo trick, is another user doing this, and what do I do to protect myself? It's hard enough for me to win, let along get cheated.

You can always play in the "Stakes" room. You would need someone to join you as you cannot play the bots.

No Limit Texas Hold'em • Re: Credit for Jackpot Spins

i am wondering if there is another way to get credit for tokens, playing these badges? I realize we must play in fun only areas, but it has taken me forever to finally win the horseplay badge, since it is based solely upon the tokens earned on the spins. To top it off, almost all of my spins have only resulted in a "huge" 30 tokens (HA), so getting to the 5000 needed was a daunting task! i had also purchased another of these poker badges, which requires even more tokens to win, so I would love any advice before attempting it. Thank you!

Yes, I am working on the Taking a Spin Badge and I have been given credit for 8 out of nine, but I did not get credit for several along the way or the last one just a few hours ago. Thanks.

Are you working on a Badge? It would be really helpful if you told us which one it was and what the requirements are.
