Limit Mode
Limit Mode is a more casual version of No Limit Texas Hold ‘em.  It features a simplified betting system, the ability to join a game in progress, and the option to re-stake and continue playing when out of chips.  Limit Mode does not utilize the ratings feature.

No Limit Mode
No Limit Mode is a tournament-style Hold 'em poker game geared towards the more serious poker player.  In this mode, players stake once and play until only player remains.  Furthermore, betting is wide-open; the user can raise up to his entire stake at any time!  Four players are required to start a game, which gains intensity over time via increasing blinds.  Games can be rated and further regulated by a "rating required" option, which allows players to group by similar skill levels.

Jackpot & Tokens
There are two ways you can earn a Jackpot spin:
  • In Limit Mode, you must win 4 hands (spelling S P I N at the bottom of the screen).
  • In No Limit Mode, you win a Jackpot Spin by being the last player remaining.
The Jackpot Spinner spins like a slot machine. When it stops spinning, you'll win the prize indicated on the spinner or perhaps the JACKPOT itself! Members of Club Pogo are eligible for DOUBLE JACKPOTS!

Stakes & Tables
When you sit down at a table, you will contribute some of your token balance into your "Stake". This represents the amount of tokens you set aside for betting. All players who sit down at a table use the same stake. In this poker game, the nice thing about using a stake instead of your total token balance is that a player with a thousand tokens can play a player with a million tokens and it's still easy to tell who's ahead in the betting.

Practice First!
You're going to be winning and losing real tokens when you play any of the "Roller" rooms. Further, your entire stake is committed in No Limit Mode (that is, you don’t get your stake back unless you win the game; leaving early forfeits all your tokens!). We recommend you practice first by playing in one of the Just For Fun rooms until you're comfortable with the game and the betting process.

Going All-In (No Limit Mode Only):
There is one case where all betting will cease and the remaining community cards will be revealed without further betting.  This occurs when at least one player bets all his tokens, at least one other person calls, and there is no one left with tokens to bet. At this point, since no more bets can be made, the player’s cards are revealed as are the remaining community cards.  The winner is then decided in what is usually a dramatic Showdown.

Hand Rankings:
When hands are revealed, the player with the highest hand wins. Here is a list of the possible hands you could make in poker, listed from highest to lowest.

Straight Flush - Five cards in sequence that are all the same suit. A Royal Flush is a special type of Straight Flush that goes from 10 to Ace.

Four of a Kind - Four cards of the same rank.

Full House - A three of a kind and a pair in the same hand.

Flush - Any five cards of the same suit, but not in sequence.

Straight - A sequence of cards in any suit. Please note that for a Straight, an Ace can be high or low, but it cannot "wrap around". In other words, A-2-3-4-5 is a straight, and 10-J-Q-K-A is a straight, but Q-K-A-2-3 is not.

Three of a Kind - Three cards of the same rank

Two Pair - Two different pairs of cards

One Pair - One pair of cards of the same rank (e.g. Two fours)

High Card - The highest card in your hand.

Can anyone explain to me why - when it says "Start Game" to play with empty seats - and you click on it - you just get reset to start al over again? Why have that button if you can't play with empty seats and the game re-sets???

So sad that you think the game is rigged. It is not. It is computer generated. If you play long enough you will recognize the patterns the computer uses. Then the challenge becomes trying to beat the computer and well as the other players - most of whom also recognize the patterns. And besides - it's only tokens. :!:

You get more tokens playing in roller rooms and against other human players which I do not do. The most in High roller rooms but I always play in just for fun because I'm too scared to play other players in such an over competitive game.

What logical reason would there be for that? Tokens are free and have no monetary value. Why would Pogo "rig" it?

It's also a game that doesn't require real dollars. Players are willing to take risks that they wouldn't with cash money.

This is a game where it's all in the cards. Nothing you can do about it. You take risks of gambling while others don't. Pogo may give you a straight and you go all in while someone else may have a full house which beats a straight. So yes. This is a game which is all about it all on what pogo gives you and what you risk.

No Limit Texas Hold'em • Does Pogo control the game??

By PolishPrince7452 » December 22nd, 2016, 2:07 am

It appears to me that Pogo some how is controlling the game. To many rivers are winners. Why not just use one deck, let the cards fall at random and reshuffle after each hand. Maybe set up a special table where the skill of the player will determine the winner. I know Pogo is concern that a hot shot player will come in and discourage other because they never win. This is a card game and it is called "gambling"!!

No, Pogo is not listening here in this forum. But, other players are and they, including myself, have earned this badge and offered suggestions on how to win it in only a few games. There a several threads already stated and many posts. You can start reading the first page of this thread.

You need to play the LIMITED game mode. Then select either Just for Fun and play the bots or one of the High Roller tables and play other members.
All you need to do is win 4 hands and you get a JPS. Soooo much easier then doing the Tournament game mode.
