Limit Mode
Limit Mode is a more casual version of No Limit Texas Hold ‘em.  It features a simplified betting system, the ability to join a game in progress, and the option to re-stake and continue playing when out of chips.  Limit Mode does not utilize the ratings feature.

No Limit Mode
No Limit Mode is a tournament-style Hold 'em poker game geared towards the more serious poker player.  In this mode, players stake once and play until only player remains.  Furthermore, betting is wide-open; the user can raise up to his entire stake at any time!  Four players are required to start a game, which gains intensity over time via increasing blinds.  Games can be rated and further regulated by a "rating required" option, which allows players to group by similar skill levels.

Jackpot & Tokens
There are two ways you can earn a Jackpot spin:
  • In Limit Mode, you must win 4 hands (spelling S P I N at the bottom of the screen).
  • In No Limit Mode, you win a Jackpot Spin by being the last player remaining.
The Jackpot Spinner spins like a slot machine. When it stops spinning, you'll win the prize indicated on the spinner or perhaps the JACKPOT itself! Members of Club Pogo are eligible for DOUBLE JACKPOTS!

Stakes & Tables
When you sit down at a table, you will contribute some of your token balance into your "Stake". This represents the amount of tokens you set aside for betting. All players who sit down at a table use the same stake. In this poker game, the nice thing about using a stake instead of your total token balance is that a player with a thousand tokens can play a player with a million tokens and it's still easy to tell who's ahead in the betting.

Practice First!
You're going to be winning and losing real tokens when you play any of the "Roller" rooms. Further, your entire stake is committed in No Limit Mode (that is, you don’t get your stake back unless you win the game; leaving early forfeits all your tokens!). We recommend you practice first by playing in one of the Just For Fun rooms until you're comfortable with the game and the betting process.

Going All-In (No Limit Mode Only):
There is one case where all betting will cease and the remaining community cards will be revealed without further betting.  This occurs when at least one player bets all his tokens, at least one other person calls, and there is no one left with tokens to bet. At this point, since no more bets can be made, the player’s cards are revealed as are the remaining community cards.  The winner is then decided in what is usually a dramatic Showdown.

Hand Rankings:
When hands are revealed, the player with the highest hand wins. Here is a list of the possible hands you could make in poker, listed from highest to lowest.

Straight Flush - Five cards in sequence that are all the same suit. A Royal Flush is a special type of Straight Flush that goes from 10 to Ace.

Four of a Kind - Four cards of the same rank.

Full House - A three of a kind and a pair in the same hand.

Flush - Any five cards of the same suit, but not in sequence.

Straight - A sequence of cards in any suit. Please note that for a Straight, an Ace can be high or low, but it cannot "wrap around". In other words, A-2-3-4-5 is a straight, and 10-J-Q-K-A is a straight, but Q-K-A-2-3 is not.

Three of a Kind - Three cards of the same rank

Two Pair - Two different pairs of cards

One Pair - One pair of cards of the same rank (e.g. Two fours)

High Card - The highest card in your hand.

The games are working. If your games are freezing or you are being thrown out of a game something in your settings is most likely the cause.

It would be helpful if you start your own thread in the Individual Troubleshooting Section of the forums (under Help and Hints). Be sure to read the rules for using that section. When you are ready to make your thread, describe in detail what is happening. List some games you can play and some games you can't play. Most importantly, list the information from the Systems Information Link that you will see when you read the rules. Without knowing your operating system, browser, java and flash versions, nobody will be able to offer you any suggestions.

Here is a link to the IT section:

Individual Troubleshooting Overview and Rules

Or, if you would like to contact Pogo directly, you can do that via the Help link at the top of your page:
Help > EA Help > Contact Us.

Dear Moderators and fellow players - I have just PAID to become a member in order to avoid those nasty freezing, glitching ADS!! And yet - several games I've tried today as a new PAID member either don't load or freeze or drop me out. WHAT HAVE I PAID FOR??? I read the forum answers to similar questions by moderators so PLEASE don't tell me to change browsers or clean my cache. I am not a novice at all of this. Somewhere along the line it IS a Pogo problem. All I ask is fix the site..."Clues" - Word Whomp" ( the lag time between letters and timer). SO SAD!!! :(

I have noticed others commenting on other forums that they are having problems with Chrome all of a sudden too...( see: Bingo Luau & Word Whomp forums ). Could it be this Flash dump you mentioned causing the problems? Is Pogo aware? :?

Yes indeed Pogo does warn. This latest was totally on me. I am now on Firefox and so far so good. However, I did learn along the way that Chrome ( among others ) is trying to dump Adobe Flash anyway. Who knows! But - thank you for your help. I am properly chastised.

Pogo warns people about calling a number you find on the internet for Customer Service.
From Pogo about help sites
You did not reach Pogo Customer Service. They do not charge for assistance.

My final comment: After spending the remainder of the afternoon doing everything humanly possible to my computer, I finally called Customer Service. We spent a half an hour delving into this situation. The final outcome??? ( here I quote the POGO CS rep)..."For a tech fee of $149.00 the problem can be solved." I know YOU have no control over these matters but I am quite unhappy that what( by the tech's own admission ) IS a Pogo problem, I, as the customer. must pay to have it fixed. I do thank you, however , for trying to give me solutions to the best of your ability.

So - here I am again. NOT good news this time. A week after I wrote my glowing compliment to Pogo re: Chrome I find myself in a quandry: I CANNOT get into ANY games via CHROME! I have reloaded Flash (just to be sure) and cleaned my cache...I have tried the F5 trick as suggested by someone else and still NOTHING! IE works just fine altho' incredibly slow as does Edge - also incredibly slow, but I can at least get into the games if I have infinite patience. WHAT HAS HAPPENED? Help from anyone.

In the past I have been very vocal about the diminishing quality of the games on Pogo...long loading IF they load at all, freezing, dropping out, not paying etc.etc. HOWEVER - I recently switched to Chrome and must say I see I BIG difference now. All of my favorite games load faster and seldom glitch in any way. Except, of course for "Clues". Although it loads faster there are still some selections that just don't load between cities. I doubt that will ever be fixed, but I am happy enough with all the other results that I will renew my membership when it come due. Here's hoping the games keep running smoothly from now on. :)

If you go to the start of this thread and read the first 3 or 4 posts, you will find a suggestion that worked for many.
