Limit Mode
Limit Mode is a more casual version of No Limit Texas Hold ‘em.  It features a simplified betting system, the ability to join a game in progress, and the option to re-stake and continue playing when out of chips.  Limit Mode does not utilize the ratings feature.

No Limit Mode
No Limit Mode is a tournament-style Hold 'em poker game geared towards the more serious poker player.  In this mode, players stake once and play until only player remains.  Furthermore, betting is wide-open; the user can raise up to his entire stake at any time!  Four players are required to start a game, which gains intensity over time via increasing blinds.  Games can be rated and further regulated by a "rating required" option, which allows players to group by similar skill levels.

Jackpot & Tokens
There are two ways you can earn a Jackpot spin:
  • In Limit Mode, you must win 4 hands (spelling S P I N at the bottom of the screen).
  • In No Limit Mode, you win a Jackpot Spin by being the last player remaining.
The Jackpot Spinner spins like a slot machine. When it stops spinning, you'll win the prize indicated on the spinner or perhaps the JACKPOT itself! Members of Club Pogo are eligible for DOUBLE JACKPOTS!

Stakes & Tables
When you sit down at a table, you will contribute some of your token balance into your "Stake". This represents the amount of tokens you set aside for betting. All players who sit down at a table use the same stake. In this poker game, the nice thing about using a stake instead of your total token balance is that a player with a thousand tokens can play a player with a million tokens and it's still easy to tell who's ahead in the betting.

Practice First!
You're going to be winning and losing real tokens when you play any of the "Roller" rooms. Further, your entire stake is committed in No Limit Mode (that is, you don’t get your stake back unless you win the game; leaving early forfeits all your tokens!). We recommend you practice first by playing in one of the Just For Fun rooms until you're comfortable with the game and the betting process.

Going All-In (No Limit Mode Only):
There is one case where all betting will cease and the remaining community cards will be revealed without further betting.  This occurs when at least one player bets all his tokens, at least one other person calls, and there is no one left with tokens to bet. At this point, since no more bets can be made, the player’s cards are revealed as are the remaining community cards.  The winner is then decided in what is usually a dramatic Showdown.

Hand Rankings:
When hands are revealed, the player with the highest hand wins. Here is a list of the possible hands you could make in poker, listed from highest to lowest.

Straight Flush - Five cards in sequence that are all the same suit. A Royal Flush is a special type of Straight Flush that goes from 10 to Ace.

Four of a Kind - Four cards of the same rank.

Full House - A three of a kind and a pair in the same hand.

Flush - Any five cards of the same suit, but not in sequence.

Straight - A sequence of cards in any suit. Please note that for a Straight, an Ace can be high or low, but it cannot "wrap around". In other words, A-2-3-4-5 is a straight, and 10-J-Q-K-A is a straight, but Q-K-A-2-3 is not.

Three of a Kind - Three cards of the same rank

Two Pair - Two different pairs of cards

One Pair - One pair of cards of the same rank (e.g. Two fours)

High Card - The highest card in your hand.

No Limit Texas Hold'em • Re: Plug-in STILL blocked

By CAGal1950 » May 24th, 2017, 12:54 am

I really need to disagree with you on that. A lot of things may have changed on your computer. There could be updates. Flash has updated. Your Browser has updated. Microsoft has updated Windows 10.
The game is still the same game it was years ago when it was released.
I have several computers and I can play ALL Pogo games on all of them. Not just a few games, but all.
If you are using Edge or IE11, on Windows 10, THAT is your problem. They do not do well with Adobe Flash Player or Java.
Edge, IE11, Firefox and Chrome have all made changes in allowing NPAPI Plug-ins. NPAPI Plug-ins are considered unsafe. Each of of those browser, in the past 5 months, has made changes to their settings. You now have to "Allow" them to play.
That is not Pogo's doing. That is the makers of the individual Browsers. And, it will be getting worse.
Every month, Microsoft sends updates to Windows 10. And, there has been an Adobe Flash Player update with it.
Folks are going to have to become a little more "pro-active" in keeping the settings correct.

Same way there are other games that I can play that other players have an issue with. Doesn't mean there is not an issue. I am using the recommended browser and played this game successfully in the past, pretty recently for a badge as a matter of fact. NOTHING has changed on my end since I last played.

Yes there is something to fix. Still not does work even AFTER "allowing" the plug in.

There is nothing for Pogo to fix. The Blocking lies in your Browsers. Plug- ins are Flash and Java. If your browser is blocking the use of them, then you need to Allow it.
I'm sorry you are having problems. Maybe if you told us what Browser you are using and what operating system, someone could offer a permanent solution for you.
I have Windows 10 and use Chrome. It blocked plug-ins until I set it to Allow at all times. Same with Firefox 52 ESR.

Here we go again. "Plug-n blocked on this page." Plug-in is NOT blocked on any other page or any other site I visit. Just here. STILL. Is it just me or does anyone else think it is far past time to FIX this problem?

Why doesn't Pogo not let me into a room when it shows there are plenty of open chairs?????? I pay for this service and I expect to be able to play the games.

I am SOOOOOO sick of Pogo dropping me out of winning games with a white page and exclamation point or "Not Responding". I have done EVERYTHING you moderators suggested and still no resolutions.. YES - I KNOW I am talking to fellow players BUT CS AND EA are absolutely NO HELP!!! So where does a "free" player go from here???> What else do I have to do to complete a game without glitches???

I'm a "free" player so I guess I can't complain... but... what's with the white screen and exclamation point dropping me out of a winning game 3 - THREE - times now. Anybody have an answer?

No Limit Texas Hold'em is a Flash game, Java has nothing to do with it.
Is your Flash updated?
Have you restarted your computer after Windows did updates on Flash?

Actually, Mozilla Firefox no longer supports Java.

Internet Explorer still supports Java though.

And tuliptyme explained in her post up above about another version of Mozilla Firefox (Firefox ESR) and one more browser that also supports Java
