Limit Mode
Limit Mode is a more casual version of No Limit Texas Hold ‘em.  It features a simplified betting system, the ability to join a game in progress, and the option to re-stake and continue playing when out of chips.  Limit Mode does not utilize the ratings feature.

No Limit Mode
No Limit Mode is a tournament-style Hold 'em poker game geared towards the more serious poker player.  In this mode, players stake once and play until only player remains.  Furthermore, betting is wide-open; the user can raise up to his entire stake at any time!  Four players are required to start a game, which gains intensity over time via increasing blinds.  Games can be rated and further regulated by a "rating required" option, which allows players to group by similar skill levels.

Jackpot & Tokens
There are two ways you can earn a Jackpot spin:
  • In Limit Mode, you must win 4 hands (spelling S P I N at the bottom of the screen).
  • In No Limit Mode, you win a Jackpot Spin by being the last player remaining.
The Jackpot Spinner spins like a slot machine. When it stops spinning, you'll win the prize indicated on the spinner or perhaps the JACKPOT itself! Members of Club Pogo are eligible for DOUBLE JACKPOTS!

Stakes & Tables
When you sit down at a table, you will contribute some of your token balance into your "Stake". This represents the amount of tokens you set aside for betting. All players who sit down at a table use the same stake. In this poker game, the nice thing about using a stake instead of your total token balance is that a player with a thousand tokens can play a player with a million tokens and it's still easy to tell who's ahead in the betting.

Practice First!
You're going to be winning and losing real tokens when you play any of the "Roller" rooms. Further, your entire stake is committed in No Limit Mode (that is, you don’t get your stake back unless you win the game; leaving early forfeits all your tokens!). We recommend you practice first by playing in one of the Just For Fun rooms until you're comfortable with the game and the betting process.

Going All-In (No Limit Mode Only):
There is one case where all betting will cease and the remaining community cards will be revealed without further betting.  This occurs when at least one player bets all his tokens, at least one other person calls, and there is no one left with tokens to bet. At this point, since no more bets can be made, the player’s cards are revealed as are the remaining community cards.  The winner is then decided in what is usually a dramatic Showdown.

Hand Rankings:
When hands are revealed, the player with the highest hand wins. Here is a list of the possible hands you could make in poker, listed from highest to lowest.

Straight Flush - Five cards in sequence that are all the same suit. A Royal Flush is a special type of Straight Flush that goes from 10 to Ace.

Four of a Kind - Four cards of the same rank.

Full House - A three of a kind and a pair in the same hand.

Flush - Any five cards of the same suit, but not in sequence.

Straight - A sequence of cards in any suit. Please note that for a Straight, an Ace can be high or low, but it cannot "wrap around". In other words, A-2-3-4-5 is a straight, and 10-J-Q-K-A is a straight, but Q-K-A-2-3 is not.

Three of a Kind - Three cards of the same rank

Two Pair - Two different pairs of cards

One Pair - One pair of cards of the same rank (e.g. Two fours)

High Card - The highest card in your hand.

Make sure you are playing No Limit Texas Hold'em and not Texas Hold 'em.
Click on the Chat Rooms Tab.
Directly above the list of rooms you will see Game Mode and Room Type.
For Game Mode choose: "Limit Games"
For Room Type choose: "Just For Fun"
Win four hands and you will get a jackpot spin.

Click on the Chat Rooms Tab underneath the game.
Next to Game Mode: Tick the button for Limit Games.
Next To Room Type: Click "Just For Fun."
Now choose a room from the Chat Room list and choose an empty table.
You will get an options screen which will allow you to make your table private . Enter a password in the box next to 'Make Table Private" and you will still be able to play with the robot opponents.

I went back to the game and tried to do what you said about playing the limited game mode. There is no such choice. You can either choose to play people or robots. I always play the bots. When you choose bots, you are automatically put in the fun tournament choice. There is no other choice. And like I told you before, I have been playing in the fun room for 2 days now and when I win a game and get a jackpot spin, I don't get the credit given to me for the win all the time. I cannot find any limited mode.

I just won again and didn't get the credit, but the games before, I got credited. Same game.....I should get the credits all the time. So right now, I've been denied three wins. I'll try what you said, but I still lost 3 wins.

You need to play the LIMITED game mode. Then select either Just for Fun and play the bots or one of the High Roller tables and play other members.
All you need to do is win 4 hands and you get a JPS. Soooo much easier then doing the Tournament game mode.

No Limit Texas Hold'em • Boot Button for No Limit Texas Hold 'Em

By Sailing99223 » September 23rd, 2016, 3:43 pm

Under the ? listed above WHO'S HERE in any lobby for No Limit Texas Hold 'Em, there's an option listed as BOOT BUTTON, that Pogo says is available for a 4-person game. No matter if I join a table (making 4 players) or I'm the host of a table that eventually has 4 players, this BOOT BUTTON never shows up when clicking on a player for options (i.e. See Profile, etc.). Where is it? Thanks.

No Limit Texas Hold'em • Re: Timeouts

By CAGal1950 » September 13th, 2016, 12:30 pm

That is the number of times you've "Timed Out" and had to sit the remainder of the hand out. Most tables have a timer. If you don't make your bet/call/fold within that time, you will get a "Timed Out" notice and the next persons will take their turn.
