The object of Phlinx is to create groups of 3 or more matching sones and make them disappear. Free the four captured glyphs and win the puzzle game!

Gameplay consists mostly of using your sun disk to shoot stones into the playing field. To aim your sun disk, just move your mouse around in the playing field. You'll see that the sun disk rotates to follow your cursor, and an aiming line shows you where your shot will land. Once you are satisfied with your aim, click the left mouse button to fire!

If you're having trouble finding a good shot, you can also move your disk to any of the three different platforms you see at the bottom of the screen. To move to a different platform, either left-click on the platform or use the space bar to rotate between platforms.

Once you have launched a stone, it will travel in a straight line, bouncing off the pillars on the sides, until it hits another stone in the playing field. The stone will join the rest of the playing field at the point where it landed. If that stone becomes part of a group of 3 or more stones of the same color, they'll disappear.

If, after these stones disappear, there are other stones disconnected from the rest of the playing field, they'll fall to the ground. These stones then make their way down the ramp and knock the progress meter closer and closer to its goal at the top of the pillar. It's by releasing these stones, not just making matches, that you earn tokens and win the game.

Your sun disk contains two stones. The larger stone in front is the one you currently have loaded. The smaller stone in back indicates the next color that will be loaded into your sun disk.

As you make shots, new rows will be added to the playing field. These new rows will be added based on the number of shots you make, not the amount of time you take. So feel free to take your time between shots to aim, chat, read a short romance novel, or bake a batch of chocolate-chip cookies for your favorite game developers (Cough cough.) The rows won't advance during that time.

Here are some tips and tricks to help you enjoy a game of Phlinx the free online puzzle game!

Don't forget you can bounce stones off the side pillars. This will help you make matches higher up in the playing field so you can drop lots of stones. It helps you a lot in the nighttime stage.

If you're having trouble lining up a shot, don't forget that (in the daytime) you can move your sun disk to different platforms. You can line up better shots that way.

Remember that making lots of stones fall is the key to winning, not just making matches.

At the end of every round, we provide you with a helpful hint. Be sure to read those.

Make sure your browser's zoom is set at exactly 100 percent.

While on your home page, hold down the CTRL key and press the Zero key (above the letter P on your keyboard) at the same time.

That will reset your zoom. Do that before you go to the game.

You could also try a browser other than the one you normally use to see if the game will load.

Is anyone else having problems with Phlinx loading? I started having problems with it a couple of days ago. After several tries it would finally load but today when I try to play the game opens with a black screen, beginner mode showing at the bottom and on the side where it shows who is playing and the scores it is blank. I have tried several times in the last 3 hours to play and I can't.

@HWANT:

No, do not post a screen shot; we know what the nude mini looks like.

Refreshing your page should clear up the problem.

You could also sign out of Pogo, close your browser, and restart your computer.

So I did get an "answer"

In case I was not hallucinating, Is there a way for me to post a screen shot of the mini next time this happens?

@ HWANT

You received an answer in the last thread you started about this topic.

If you lose track of your posts you can find them by clicking on the View your posts link near the top on the left-hand side.

Many of us have seen the base mini which looks like a doll without clothing. No detail is shown.

My mini got naked - topless!

Yes, it happens often enough.

It is a product of slow loading. Minis are constructed in layers and when they load slow, you will see the base of the mini first which is basically a nude doll.

Know that Phlinx is a flash-based game and as Flash is a resource hog, it can cause slow loading.

Edited to add: What Droagie said.

This has happened to many. If you do a search at the top of a thread (usually mini's and expressions) and type in nude or naked mini, many posts will come up.

I swear I'm not making this up. I was chasing the weekly challenge on Phlinx today (Sun. 7/31). When the screen came up showing I had won a round, my avatar was missing his pants! There was no anatomy; it looked like I was wearing flesh-colored tights. Wish I had taken a screen capture, but I was so surprised I just reacted and jumped out to check the home page. The pants were back. Played several more rounds of Phlinx and it didn't happen again. Anybody else have this experience?

Phlinx • Re: do you get credit in the dark time or only in the daytim

By Seska42 » July 31st, 2016, 4:16 am

All drops are counted, day and night.

Keep in mind that it's only dropped balls that count, not matched balls. If the ball disappears because you matched it with a ball of the same color, it doesn't count as dropped.

By ElinrRigby » July 31st, 2016, 3:35 am

i'm not sure if it matters how many you drop at night.. i think they only count what you drop in daytime..cause i sure drop alot more at night..which means this is gonna take forever:(

Lost all of my progress from yesterday as well on the Wednesday challenge but still have the progress I made from my personal challenge for a 2004 badge. Go figure eh :? Something must have changed in the programming or something?

Go back to the game and see if your updated progress shows in the chat area after you finish the next round.

Don't go by what is showing on your home page because progress doesn't always update accurately over there.
