The object of Phlinx is to create groups of 3 or more matching sones and make them disappear. Free the four captured glyphs and win the puzzle game!

Gameplay consists mostly of using your sun disk to shoot stones into the playing field. To aim your sun disk, just move your mouse around in the playing field. You'll see that the sun disk rotates to follow your cursor, and an aiming line shows you where your shot will land. Once you are satisfied with your aim, click the left mouse button to fire!

If you're having trouble finding a good shot, you can also move your disk to any of the three different platforms you see at the bottom of the screen. To move to a different platform, either left-click on the platform or use the space bar to rotate between platforms.

Once you have launched a stone, it will travel in a straight line, bouncing off the pillars on the sides, until it hits another stone in the playing field. The stone will join the rest of the playing field at the point where it landed. If that stone becomes part of a group of 3 or more stones of the same color, they'll disappear.

If, after these stones disappear, there are other stones disconnected from the rest of the playing field, they'll fall to the ground. These stones then make their way down the ramp and knock the progress meter closer and closer to its goal at the top of the pillar. It's by releasing these stones, not just making matches, that you earn tokens and win the game.

Your sun disk contains two stones. The larger stone in front is the one you currently have loaded. The smaller stone in back indicates the next color that will be loaded into your sun disk.

As you make shots, new rows will be added to the playing field. These new rows will be added based on the number of shots you make, not the amount of time you take. So feel free to take your time between shots to aim, chat, read a short romance novel, or bake a batch of chocolate-chip cookies for your favorite game developers (Cough cough.) The rows won't advance during that time.

Here are some tips and tricks to help you enjoy a game of Phlinx the free online puzzle game!

Don't forget you can bounce stones off the side pillars. This will help you make matches higher up in the playing field so you can drop lots of stones. It helps you a lot in the nighttime stage.

If you're having trouble lining up a shot, don't forget that (in the daytime) you can move your sun disk to different platforms. You can line up better shots that way.

Remember that making lots of stones fall is the key to winning, not just making matches.

At the end of every round, we provide you with a helpful hint. Be sure to read those.

Phlinx • [GLOBAL] Errors in Subscription Renewal Dates

By Pogo_Cactuar » April 23rd, 2014, 3:38 pm

We are aware that a number of users are seeing incorrect renewal dates displaying on their My Account pages. Some users that are on an annual subscription and were recently billed are showing that their next billing date will be in May 2014 which is incorrect. We are correcting this issue and it should reflect on your My Account page shortly. You should be billed during the correct billing cycle related to your individual account.

By Pogo_Cactuar » April 22nd, 2014, 10:55 pm

Both of these issues should now be resolved and you should be able to play previously purchased episodes in our Hidden Object Games as well as purchase more.

For those players questioning about the sale in Amazing Adventures today (4/22) the sale is currently on until 4/22 11:59pm PDT, so you should still be able to participate.

Phlinx • [RESOLVED] Purchased items showing as unpurchased

By Pogo_Cactuar » April 22nd, 2014, 7:50 pm

Our team is aware of some users seeing purchased items showing as being un-purchased in some areas, such as our Hidden Object Games. As well as when you attempt to purchase something for Gems, you may be receiving a message that states you do not have Gems when you really do. The team is currently investigating this issue and is working on a solution for it.

We recommend for the time being that you do not attempt to purchase the item for a second time.

Our team is working to have the issue resolved soon.

I was having this happen to me yesterday too and I think I found a solve. Run your cursor over the whole edges of the middle platform until it has one side light up and then click to get to it. Sure did take a lot longer to do this and lots more clicks on my pained disabled hands but I was able to finally get that middle platform. Good Luck.

That only helps for a maximum of three games after the issue starts, as vic mentioned in a previous post. With each game it gets progressively harder to find that clickable area, and it does eventually disappear entirely. I miss the days this game was Java and actually worked properly!

Phlinx • Re: Power Stone Badge

By Mod_Kyra » April 19th, 2014, 9:39 pm

Another way to add a few moments to that 2 hour limit is to pop up the activate window but don't activate it. Get the game in progress in another window and once you're set, activate it and play it. Time starts from when you activate it; loading the game can take time.

Another tip is to set up your shots. Say you have:

RR
BB
YY

Add another red or blue to the bottom of the yellow balls to create a group of 5:

RR
BB
YY
R

Then match the top reds. That will drop the two blue/two yellow/1 red set, giving you 5.

Practice a little before activating the badge. It's really fairly easy to set up such shots, but it's contrary to the way I usually play which is to chip away at the top of the screen and take out large groups at once.

There is no way to delete a Mix-and-Match badge.

Have you tried it on the Beginner level? It may be easier to quickly create and drop small groups of stones.

Fuzzy, that's a question best asked of Pogo staff, who can be reached via the Help link at the top right of each page.

My system is newer than yours and I've got two Phlinx badges in progress. It's working appropriately for me.

Since we're unable to further assist you, I'll lock this. Good luck.

Thank you Mod_Kyra, I fully understand that you and Jada are volunteers who are doing their best to help out members in trouble. This is not just about playing games and my problem here is not with any of you and the excellent service that you provide to EA (Pogo customers).
Here's a little information I got from the net - Pogo boasts of having over 17 million subscribers. If you do the math 17 mil times $39 it comes to $663,000,000. And yet Pogo survives on volunteers like yourself to address concerns or complaints from their customers. That is my issue! The problem so many people are having is in many cases just popping up recently. My system is relatively new (less than 1 year old, tons of memory, clean cache etc.) with Win 8.1, latest Java, Flash and explorer updates available (my system is set to update them automatically). I have played this game (Phlinx) on this PC before and besides that, less than 1 month ago I got an old badge in Clue and it worked fine. Now Clue doesn't load either, as other games... they just freeze when the pulsing Pogo pop-up usually appear for loading (all the other pop-ups from pogo work fine)! The old system I referred to getting my badge operates on Windows XP and an old Java, and Flash from 2 or more years ago un-updated. Kyra, Pogo Game designers should be the ones responsible for making sure that all their games are workable with the latest versions of the whatever plug-in software they have chosen to run it. Why should I have to regress to older possibly unsafe programs to play games I'm paying for! It's a known fact that the plug in companies will always be updating their programs, so will Pogo members with newer systems with automatic updates be constantly facing this dilemma? It is obvious to me that if Pogo does not work with the plug in people we will be. With what they are getting in membership fees it only makes sense that they assume this responsibility personally. However until then, thank goodness people like you and Jada are around to solve the majority of their problems or the end would be in sight for Pogo.

Since you already have this thread about Phlinx freezing, I moved your latest post here. It seems like you are having a freezing issue with more than one game.

Your system information is needed in order for anyone to offer help. Without that information we cannot make suggestions.

The link below will show your OS, browser, java and flash versions. Copy and paste that information back here and someone will try to help you:
