Pogo™ Bowl provides a simple but powerful interface to make your shots. Start out by moving the mouse left or right to get the ball into the desired position. Once you have the ball where you want it, click on the ball to set the position. While holding the mouse button down, drag the mouse up into the lane area - you will notice a pointer being drawn as you do this. Move the pointer to the desired location and release the mouse button to initiate the throw. The faster you move the mouse and release the mouse button, the faster your throw will be. If you pause before throwing, the pointer will "cool" down (denoted by the change in color from red to yellow) and your throw will be slower.

You can bowl a maximum of two balls per frame from frames 1-9, and a maximum of three balls on the 10th frame. The following results are possible:
  • If you knock down all of the pins on your first throw, you get a Strike. A Strike is worth 10 points plus whatever you bowl on your next two throws.
  • If you knock down some (or none) of the pins on your first throw and knock down the remaining pins on the next throw, you get a Spare. A Spare is worth 10 points plus whatever you bowl on your next throw.
  • If you knock down some (or none) of the pins on your first throw and are unable to knock down the remaining pins on the next throw, you are considered to have bowled an "open" frame. Bowling an open frame hurts your ability to get high scores, but you can usually recover by bowling Strikes and Spares.

On the 10th frame (and only on the 10th frame), it is possible to throw three balls instead of two. If you Strike on your first throw, you will get two more throws; or, if you Spare on your second throw, you will get one more throw. The maximum score you can reach in one game (also known as a "Perfect" game) is 300 points. At the end of each game, the number of pins you knock down is converted into Tokens at a 1:1 ratio. On top of this, you can earn more Tokens for knocking down bonus pins or winning the Strike it Rich bonus. You can read more about these in the other sections of the help file.

Here are some additional pointers designed to help you become a more advanced Pogo™ Bowl player.

To get consistent scores, try to find a shot that knocks down most or all of the pins each time you throw the ball. If you can recreate a good shot, your chances of getting a high score are very good. You can also help yourself by leaving simple spares. Complicated spares occur when the ball "gets away" from you. It's almost impossible to avoid these moments, but try to keep them to a minimum if you can.

Although you do not have to apply spin to bowl well, Pogo™ Bowl simulates part of real-life Bowling by allowing you to add spin to your shot. However, unlike real Bowling, you can impart spin on the ball at any time after you've thrown the ball (but before it impacts with the pins).

Once you have released the ball, you can click and hold the left or right mouse buttons to add spin to the ball. The left mouse button imparts left spin (which makes the ball eventually curve to the left) while the right mouse button imparts right spin (which makes the ball eventually curve to the right). Depending on the speed of the ball, the spin may take effect sooner or later and may be more or less exaggerated - you'll have to experiment with the direction and speed of your shots as well as the amount of spin to perfect your throws, but it can help you get more pin "action" on impact or, even more importantly, alter the path of a poorly thrown ball.

@Joey: Did you clear your Flash cache in addition to clearing your browser's cache?
Post back if you need instructions for that.
Also see the thread below. It will show you how to adjust your Flash settings:
Flash Player Manager
Also change your screen resolution to 1280 x 768.
See if that helps.
You can also try using a different browser to see if you have better game play.

Pogo Bowl • Where are the gold pins???

By kimmynanny » February 22nd, 2015, 6:47 pm

I am doing a badge challenge where I need to knock down 16 gold pins . . . but all I'm seeing is silver pins! I've played over 2 dozen games and not a gold pin in sight! I would have won the badge by now if the challenge was to knock down silver pins! Lol! Has anyone seen the gold pins, and if so, which room??? Kinda hard to get this badge if the gold pins have gone missing!

Tonight PogoBowl is unstable. The ball takes off and flies into the gutter while I am still proceeding with cursur toward the pins. This has happened numerous times before but it seemed to be resolved for a few weeks, and earlier this week it was fine. I usually bowl 180-220 and I got quite a few gutter balls tonight. I know I did not take my finger off the mouse too soon. Other players at same time tonight said they had same problem, so it's not me or my computer. No problems on any other games either. Please suggest best way for this to be resolved. I can't seem to find the right path to the section in HELP to notify Pogo about this.
I have the very latest version of Flash.
Thanks.

I have the same problem, The bowling ball shoot out so fast
head right to the gutter
I renew Adobe flasher. and it still do it;
I clean the cache and it still do it.
I can't even play the game anymore.
Cause the same problem got worse then ever.
Still waiting for pogo to fix this issues.

I have lost at least 5 silver pins and well as being give no credit at the end of the game. Is this happening to anyone else or is it just another google/chrome/POGO issue?

I noticed that sometimes the score in the 10th frame does not match the final score. The final score is less. Is there a reason for this?

Pogo Bowl • Re: Pogo Bowl,Ball going too fast

By JM3Cunningham » February 10th, 2015, 2:53 pm

Leave your curser on the ball till you get to spot in pins, where you want it to go. Let ball go, but leave your hand at the spot, untill the pins have stopped falling. You have more contoll of ball that way.

Just keep playing, make sure you finish the game to get credit, and hopefully you will complete the challenge soon.

You have knocked down 5 gold pins and completed the games? You have to complete the entire game, all 10 frames? Your badge shows you haven't completed the challenge yet.

Yes, but even if a league is assigned a non Club room by their league (which is outside of Pogo's control), anyone can join unless the room is full. You can have 19 Club members in a room that holds 20 and if a free member wanders in, the entire room goes on intermission status.

The OP is interested in avoiding intermissions. The only way to make sure that happens is to use a Club member only room.
