Pogo™ Bowl provides a simple but powerful interface to make your shots. Start out by moving the mouse left or right to get the ball into the desired position. Once you have the ball where you want it, click on the ball to set the position. While holding the mouse button down, drag the mouse up into the lane area - you will notice a pointer being drawn as you do this. Move the pointer to the desired location and release the mouse button to initiate the throw. The faster you move the mouse and release the mouse button, the faster your throw will be. If you pause before throwing, the pointer will "cool" down (denoted by the change in color from red to yellow) and your throw will be slower.

You can bowl a maximum of two balls per frame from frames 1-9, and a maximum of three balls on the 10th frame. The following results are possible:
  • If you knock down all of the pins on your first throw, you get a Strike. A Strike is worth 10 points plus whatever you bowl on your next two throws.
  • If you knock down some (or none) of the pins on your first throw and knock down the remaining pins on the next throw, you get a Spare. A Spare is worth 10 points plus whatever you bowl on your next throw.
  • If you knock down some (or none) of the pins on your first throw and are unable to knock down the remaining pins on the next throw, you are considered to have bowled an "open" frame. Bowling an open frame hurts your ability to get high scores, but you can usually recover by bowling Strikes and Spares.

On the 10th frame (and only on the 10th frame), it is possible to throw three balls instead of two. If you Strike on your first throw, you will get two more throws; or, if you Spare on your second throw, you will get one more throw. The maximum score you can reach in one game (also known as a "Perfect" game) is 300 points. At the end of each game, the number of pins you knock down is converted into Tokens at a 1:1 ratio. On top of this, you can earn more Tokens for knocking down bonus pins or winning the Strike it Rich bonus. You can read more about these in the other sections of the help file.

Here are some additional pointers designed to help you become a more advanced Pogo™ Bowl player.

To get consistent scores, try to find a shot that knocks down most or all of the pins each time you throw the ball. If you can recreate a good shot, your chances of getting a high score are very good. You can also help yourself by leaving simple spares. Complicated spares occur when the ball "gets away" from you. It's almost impossible to avoid these moments, but try to keep them to a minimum if you can.

Although you do not have to apply spin to bowl well, Pogo™ Bowl simulates part of real-life Bowling by allowing you to add spin to your shot. However, unlike real Bowling, you can impart spin on the ball at any time after you've thrown the ball (but before it impacts with the pins).

Once you have released the ball, you can click and hold the left or right mouse buttons to add spin to the ball. The left mouse button imparts left spin (which makes the ball eventually curve to the left) while the right mouse button imparts right spin (which makes the ball eventually curve to the right). Depending on the speed of the ball, the spin may take effect sooner or later and may be more or less exaggerated - you'll have to experiment with the direction and speed of your shots as well as the amount of spin to perfect your throws, but it can help you get more pin "action" on impact or, even more importantly, alter the path of a poorly thrown ball.

Learn something new every day! I didn't know that. 'Course I never pay attention to stuff like that. I would have never even noticed the dates being the same if I hadn't read this post and gone to check it out.
Thanks for sharing that, vane. ;)

Are you sure you played and earned this badge. Your badge is not showing complete in the index nor inside your album, as I said in my previous post, having it showing in color doesn't mean you completed it, not for a Limited Edition Album.
They grey thing works for regular MnM badges only.
And it not only doesn't show as complete in the index, it also says "Qmaurine have won this badge 0 times".

Edited to add:
I also checked the list of earned badges in your profile, I went through your earned badges all the way back to November 16 2013 (when the TG badge was released) and no, is not showing there as won either.
Sorry to ask again, but are you sure you earned this badge or are you just going by the "color opposite to grey" thing in your album? If yes, guess the only thing you can do is contact Customer Support.

Limited Edition Badges, for some reason, never show in grey in our albums. Complete or not, they always show in color in the index/content as well as inside the album. I did notice this long ago.
For instance, I haven't done the Players Choice Limited Edition badge and it's already showing in color in my last album.

I too think the release date showing 2006 for some badges is because they have been retired.

you will need to contact pogo via the help link then, because like boa stated the thanksgiving badge is not showing as being completed. I mean you can either do it again or contact pogo. I personally would just redo it.

What exactly is the problem it is causing? The only think I noticed is that according to M&M Album #48, you haven't won the 2013 Thanksgiving Limited Edition Badge. The others show as being won in Albums #5. #6 & #21.

Pogo Bowl • Re: No Credit for Strikes Now No credit for Spares either

By NotUrAvgA » March 4th, 2014, 4:15 am

hmmm. i have never had problems getting credit for strikes or spares. are you sticking around till the jackpot spin or are you leaving before? you have to wait for the game to officially end before credit is given.

out of curiosity i just reactivated my "alley friends badge" which calls for 6 strikes, played a game and got credit for my strikes.

Pogo Bowl • No Credit for Strikes Now No credit for Spares either

By theycallmeHells » March 4th, 2014, 4:11 am

I'm frustrated because I have been real patient. I've played a 6 strike badge with at least 3 down no credit. So I moved on figuring something weird was happening and it will be working fine next time. Now not getting credit for spares or strikes. I've kept on playing figuring it's just not showing me my game credits but it will on my home page when I look at the badge I'm working on and nothing credited there for any spares or strikes either. I haven't heard anyone complain of issues w/this so can anyone help me here. I'd really appreciate it. Yes, I have cleaned files, cache etc. which I do on a regular basis. Ty for reading this and possibly for some answers. Dina~ theycallmeHells
