Pogo™ Bowl provides a simple but powerful interface to make your shots. Start out by moving the mouse left or right to get the ball into the desired position. Once you have the ball where you want it, click on the ball to set the position. While holding the mouse button down, drag the mouse up into the lane area - you will notice a pointer being drawn as you do this. Move the pointer to the desired location and release the mouse button to initiate the throw. The faster you move the mouse and release the mouse button, the faster your throw will be. If you pause before throwing, the pointer will "cool" down (denoted by the change in color from red to yellow) and your throw will be slower.

You can bowl a maximum of two balls per frame from frames 1-9, and a maximum of three balls on the 10th frame. The following results are possible:
  • If you knock down all of the pins on your first throw, you get a Strike. A Strike is worth 10 points plus whatever you bowl on your next two throws.
  • If you knock down some (or none) of the pins on your first throw and knock down the remaining pins on the next throw, you get a Spare. A Spare is worth 10 points plus whatever you bowl on your next throw.
  • If you knock down some (or none) of the pins on your first throw and are unable to knock down the remaining pins on the next throw, you are considered to have bowled an "open" frame. Bowling an open frame hurts your ability to get high scores, but you can usually recover by bowling Strikes and Spares.

On the 10th frame (and only on the 10th frame), it is possible to throw three balls instead of two. If you Strike on your first throw, you will get two more throws; or, if you Spare on your second throw, you will get one more throw. The maximum score you can reach in one game (also known as a "Perfect" game) is 300 points. At the end of each game, the number of pins you knock down is converted into Tokens at a 1:1 ratio. On top of this, you can earn more Tokens for knocking down bonus pins or winning the Strike it Rich bonus. You can read more about these in the other sections of the help file.

Here are some additional pointers designed to help you become a more advanced Pogo™ Bowl player.

To get consistent scores, try to find a shot that knocks down most or all of the pins each time you throw the ball. If you can recreate a good shot, your chances of getting a high score are very good. You can also help yourself by leaving simple spares. Complicated spares occur when the ball "gets away" from you. It's almost impossible to avoid these moments, but try to keep them to a minimum if you can.

Although you do not have to apply spin to bowl well, Pogo™ Bowl simulates part of real-life Bowling by allowing you to add spin to your shot. However, unlike real Bowling, you can impart spin on the ball at any time after you've thrown the ball (but before it impacts with the pins).

Once you have released the ball, you can click and hold the left or right mouse buttons to add spin to the ball. The left mouse button imparts left spin (which makes the ball eventually curve to the left) while the right mouse button imparts right spin (which makes the ball eventually curve to the right). Depending on the speed of the ball, the spin may take effect sooner or later and may be more or less exaggerated - you'll have to experiment with the direction and speed of your shots as well as the amount of spin to perfect your throws, but it can help you get more pin "action" on impact or, even more importantly, alter the path of a poorly thrown ball.

Pogo does NOT endorse league play. However, league members are responsible to follow the Terms of Service like any other member.

No one has the right to tell you or anyone else to leave a room. Mute anyone who asks and stay put if you wish to.

i happened into a room that had 5 people in it...all bowled perfect games...looked at their profile and they all were on the same tourny team.. i realize that getting a perfect game can happen but felt it not kosher for a team to hit 300 games.. game after game.. i did report them and nothing had been done.. the team is still in the tourny

As already posted earlier in this thread --

Here's Pogo's official stance is on this issue:

Sometimes it seems like someone may be using an automatic device to play some of the Pogo games. While they may be, it's not obvious. The person might have their chat turned off and they may just be a very good player.

The best thing to do is to ignore anyone suspected of cheating and carry on with your own game. The unfortunate truth is that some people do cheat, and as much as we might try to keep them from doing so, they will continue to cheat. For those who play the game honestly, it helps to remember that the fun is in the playing of the game legitimately. The bottom line is that anyone can spend their time cheating, but the satisfaction is in actually playing the game legitimately.

Pogo does audit everyone who wins a prize on Pogo and Club Pogo. When we do find cheaters we immediately forfeit the prize that they've won.

Pogo Bowl • Re: Pogo Bowl Issues

By monican7o88 » January 11th, 2017, 2:56 pm

Yes, I am having the same problem as others...5 of 18 frames with NO ball control, ball has its own mind. Very frustrating POGO.

This does not help with our tournament scores.

About 2 weeks ago, I started having problems only in Pogo bowl. I play on my laptop using my pad. Suddenly my cursor started acting crazy. It jumps making it difficult to bowl. This doesn't happen with every roll of the ball. I have actually rolled a strike and not got credit for it but had to roll again for a spare. Hard to help my tournament team play this game with this problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated. No problems with my cursor any where else except in pogo bowl.

Pogo Bowl • POGO Bowl

By ChuckleAndGrins » December 27th, 2016, 9:11 pm

I am not having any issues with the game! but a friend of mine & I had some ideas for some festive" holidays

My Friend {removed by moderator}) had the idea of making the pins into mummies for Halloween & make the Bowling Ball a Pumpkin.
My idea was for New Years to make the pins Champagne bottles & the Bowling ball a gold or silver ball (like they drop in Times Square)

Thank you
