Pogo™ Bowl provides a simple but powerful interface to make your shots. Start out by moving the mouse left or right to get the ball into the desired position. Once you have the ball where you want it, click on the ball to set the position. While holding the mouse button down, drag the mouse up into the lane area - you will notice a pointer being drawn as you do this. Move the pointer to the desired location and release the mouse button to initiate the throw. The faster you move the mouse and release the mouse button, the faster your throw will be. If you pause before throwing, the pointer will "cool" down (denoted by the change in color from red to yellow) and your throw will be slower.

You can bowl a maximum of two balls per frame from frames 1-9, and a maximum of three balls on the 10th frame. The following results are possible:
  • If you knock down all of the pins on your first throw, you get a Strike. A Strike is worth 10 points plus whatever you bowl on your next two throws.
  • If you knock down some (or none) of the pins on your first throw and knock down the remaining pins on the next throw, you get a Spare. A Spare is worth 10 points plus whatever you bowl on your next throw.
  • If you knock down some (or none) of the pins on your first throw and are unable to knock down the remaining pins on the next throw, you are considered to have bowled an "open" frame. Bowling an open frame hurts your ability to get high scores, but you can usually recover by bowling Strikes and Spares.

On the 10th frame (and only on the 10th frame), it is possible to throw three balls instead of two. If you Strike on your first throw, you will get two more throws; or, if you Spare on your second throw, you will get one more throw. The maximum score you can reach in one game (also known as a "Perfect" game) is 300 points. At the end of each game, the number of pins you knock down is converted into Tokens at a 1:1 ratio. On top of this, you can earn more Tokens for knocking down bonus pins or winning the Strike it Rich bonus. You can read more about these in the other sections of the help file.

Here are some additional pointers designed to help you become a more advanced Pogo™ Bowl player.

To get consistent scores, try to find a shot that knocks down most or all of the pins each time you throw the ball. If you can recreate a good shot, your chances of getting a high score are very good. You can also help yourself by leaving simple spares. Complicated spares occur when the ball "gets away" from you. It's almost impossible to avoid these moments, but try to keep them to a minimum if you can.

Although you do not have to apply spin to bowl well, Pogo™ Bowl simulates part of real-life Bowling by allowing you to add spin to your shot. However, unlike real Bowling, you can impart spin on the ball at any time after you've thrown the ball (but before it impacts with the pins).

Once you have released the ball, you can click and hold the left or right mouse buttons to add spin to the ball. The left mouse button imparts left spin (which makes the ball eventually curve to the left) while the right mouse button imparts right spin (which makes the ball eventually curve to the right). Depending on the speed of the ball, the spin may take effect sooner or later and may be more or less exaggerated - you'll have to experiment with the direction and speed of your shots as well as the amount of spin to perfect your throws, but it can help you get more pin "action" on impact or, even more importantly, alter the path of a poorly thrown ball.

Did you know you can choose a fast lane? Its under chat rooms. make a choice - :ugeek: fast or slow. I would also like a close up view choice.

i agree with new ranks and badges, but pogo needs to also upgrade the game. It has too long of a wait for the next frame, i think it should be a bit more faster going back to the next frame. Pogo needs to really make this pogo Bowl game better in all aspects.

Pogo Bowl • *Lost Badge Progress - Challenge Week 3/11/15*

By Mod_Skratty » March 7th, 2015, 6:45 pm

Many people are experiencing challenge progress loss with this week's and other challenges. It is unknown if Pogo is aware of this, but one must assume that by now they are. In the meantime, you might try:

* Sticking to one game room for the length of your challenge. If you need to stop, go back to that very same room. This has often recovered lost progress in the past, but it's unknown if it's effective with this particular issue.

* Try talking with customer service via the Help link > EA Help > Contact Us. Note that wait times may be long and contact methods may be limited. CS is no longer allowed to dispense badges at will and cannot allot lost progress, but it's possible they may be allowed to grant badges for such technical issues. Be patient with them and be kind. Say thank you if they're able to help and thank you even if they're not.

* Consider trying the challenge/s again in the future - weekly challenges are able to reactivate 35 days after initial release.

A second related issue is the reset of completed challenges. seeing your badge reset to play again status does not (necessarily) mean that you do not have the badge. Many of you have already earned this and other badges. PLEASE check to see if it's in your Badges list - click on the link on your Pogo homepage; it will be the link under your “stuff” directly under your mini. If you see it there, you’ve completed the challenge.

You will save yourselves much frustration and a trip to CS if you do just this simple task.

Pogo Bowl • Losing Frame 6 & Closed Rooms

By hthr12277 » March 6th, 2015, 9:39 pm

My league plays in a free room. Never before was this a problem as we don't want to limit our league to just club members. If there were non-members in the room, we just sat patiently thru the intermission. When it was just club members, intermission is skipped altogether. But now, in the last couple weeks, we are losing frame 6 some games. It seems to happen when a non-club member starts a game but leaves before frame 5, it appears to be confusing the game. The rest of us, all Club members, will see an intermission screen after frame 5 but will hear the timer click down and when the game comes back, we are at frame 7 and everyone has 0s for frame 6.

A second issue we are having is that sometimes our members get in the room by clicking on a friend's name that is already in room for tour but Pogo is saying the room is closed. Not full, because there are only 5-10 people in the room at the time but closed.

A third issue that I just noticed this week is that scores are not always displaying properly. One night, we couldn't tell the scores until after frame 10 cleared the screen and it went to the winners. But it only shows the top few so that's a huge problem in determining round winners for my league. Then, just a couple nights ago, it showed my final score in frame 10 as being 11 points below my opponent but it showed her that we tied and, when the final game conclusion screen game up, I did indeed tie her score.

What is going on? How do we fix this? Its making it very difficult to run a league under these conditions. Please fix this!

You guys all miss this part of the post?? They lost the frame during the intermission. This shouldn't happen even in non-Club rooms!!
