Pogo™ Bowl provides a simple but powerful interface to make your shots. Start out by moving the mouse left or right to get the ball into the desired position. Once you have the ball where you want it, click on the ball to set the position. While holding the mouse button down, drag the mouse up into the lane area - you will notice a pointer being drawn as you do this. Move the pointer to the desired location and release the mouse button to initiate the throw. The faster you move the mouse and release the mouse button, the faster your throw will be. If you pause before throwing, the pointer will "cool" down (denoted by the change in color from red to yellow) and your throw will be slower.

You can bowl a maximum of two balls per frame from frames 1-9, and a maximum of three balls on the 10th frame. The following results are possible:
  • If you knock down all of the pins on your first throw, you get a Strike. A Strike is worth 10 points plus whatever you bowl on your next two throws.
  • If you knock down some (or none) of the pins on your first throw and knock down the remaining pins on the next throw, you get a Spare. A Spare is worth 10 points plus whatever you bowl on your next throw.
  • If you knock down some (or none) of the pins on your first throw and are unable to knock down the remaining pins on the next throw, you are considered to have bowled an "open" frame. Bowling an open frame hurts your ability to get high scores, but you can usually recover by bowling Strikes and Spares.

On the 10th frame (and only on the 10th frame), it is possible to throw three balls instead of two. If you Strike on your first throw, you will get two more throws; or, if you Spare on your second throw, you will get one more throw. The maximum score you can reach in one game (also known as a "Perfect" game) is 300 points. At the end of each game, the number of pins you knock down is converted into Tokens at a 1:1 ratio. On top of this, you can earn more Tokens for knocking down bonus pins or winning the Strike it Rich bonus. You can read more about these in the other sections of the help file.

Here are some additional pointers designed to help you become a more advanced Pogo™ Bowl player.

To get consistent scores, try to find a shot that knocks down most or all of the pins each time you throw the ball. If you can recreate a good shot, your chances of getting a high score are very good. You can also help yourself by leaving simple spares. Complicated spares occur when the ball "gets away" from you. It's almost impossible to avoid these moments, but try to keep them to a minimum if you can.

Although you do not have to apply spin to bowl well, Pogo™ Bowl simulates part of real-life Bowling by allowing you to add spin to your shot. However, unlike real Bowling, you can impart spin on the ball at any time after you've thrown the ball (but before it impacts with the pins).

Once you have released the ball, you can click and hold the left or right mouse buttons to add spin to the ball. The left mouse button imparts left spin (which makes the ball eventually curve to the left) while the right mouse button imparts right spin (which makes the ball eventually curve to the right). Depending on the speed of the ball, the spin may take effect sooner or later and may be more or less exaggerated - you'll have to experiment with the direction and speed of your shots as well as the amount of spin to perfect your throws, but it can help you get more pin "action" on impact or, even more importantly, alter the path of a poorly thrown ball.

Pogo Bowl • Re: Frequent crashes/freezes with multiple browsers

You're welcome.

The data between your computer and the Pogo servers is lost if a game freezes.
There is no way to recover that data which means that points and tokens cannot be awarded when that happens.

I just tried Pogo Bowl using Firefox and it loaded and played fine for me.

Using Firefox, click the link below to see your system settings.
Copy and paste that information back here and someone will try to help:

Thank you for your quick and helpful reply. Yes, I follow the windows 10 instructions for cleaning flash cache often, then reboot, which is also set to clean each browser's cache upon exit/reboot. i am positive it is successful, because all browsers demand i completely sign back in, have no memory of my account each time (ugh), etc.

It just happened again on Edge... On frame 10, where I had managed to have a great score and many strikes, the ball froze upon hitting the pins, so I lost it all, including a gold pin that round. I am sooooo sick of this. Today I had given Firefox over 20 minutes to try to load, and it still never did. It used to be my go to bowling browser, but since it updated this week, nothing.

I am amazed at your info on Pale Moon and zoom, since I had gone to their own discussion on zoom, where they explained it does not exist. Perhaps that is older data now. I will go and follow your advice and hopefully using Pale Moon with zoom will solve all my problems.

Meanwhile, is there any way Pogo can set bowling to where it will give us points earned prior to these freezes? It does remember where we play, still says "currently playing" on a certain lane after rebooting, but scores are back to zero. That would ease the blow of these losses considerably!

Also, can you recommend other browsers to try, since all the oldies no longer are dependable. Thanks again.

PS UPDATE::: ABOUT ZOOM, I FOUND CHECKMARK ALREADY THERE, AND WAS ABLE TO USE ZOOM FEATURE UNDER VIEW. HOWEVER, ONCE I ACTIVATED IT USING ZOOM IN, ALL IT DOES IS MOVE LITTLE BOX TO THE RIGHT. BOWLING STILL APPEARS IN A BOX IN THE UPPER LEFT, FILLING ONLY 25% OF SCREEN. USING ZOOM DOES GREATLY ENLARGE LETTERS/WORDS IN GOLD BAR ABOVE, BUT SADLY DOES NOTHING FOR BOWLING GAME ITSELF. I CAN ONLY TAKE A FEW ROUNDS OF THIS, TOO HARD ON EYES IN MINILAND.

Pale Moon has a zoom feature.

Right click on the upside down triangle next to the gold star at the end of your address bar and put a checkmark next to "Menu Bar."

You will then find the zoom under "View."

Have you cleared your Flash cache in addition to clearing your browser's cache?

Pogo Bowl • Frequent crashes/freezes with multiple browsers

By jpmwriter » August 18th, 2017, 10:55 pm

Lately, no matter which browser I use, it ends up freezing, taking me out of the game and of course usually on the last frame, so I lose all achievements from that round. IE 11 was first to do this repeatedly, on top of the constant "recover webpage" error messages, so I stopped using IE. Initially Edge worked well, but today it crashed twice in 10 minutes alone! I attempted to switch to Firefox, which used to work well in bowling, but it would no longer load at all. That leaves me with Pale Moon, which works nicely but does not have any zoom, so in games that do not provide enlarged screens, I cannot see to aim for pins in bowling with Pale Moon. I do not like Google for many other reasons of old so do not even have or want Chrome available.

What can I do?

And yes, I constantly clean all caches and reboot often! My system checks out well, new pc, etc. I never had these problems before, and it is ruining my progress in bowling.

Oh ok. Thank you CAGal and Mod_Aby. I was checking to make sure all of mine were finished for this time. It sure was a task to try to do these, as it took up all of my free time and then some. But I see why the confusion. I should have written down all the challenge badges and checked them off as I did them. I will open my profile.
Again, thank you, From A45

You won that Spike's Marathon 9 Badge in Pogo Bowl during the Marathon that was held in May.

As you profile is closed to me , I can not see if you have won all of the badges for this Marathon.

For future reference, silver and gold pins show up randomly. There is one or the other in each game. Never both a silver and gold in the same game.

If it says you won it, you won it. I see it in your Profile under Badges. You won the Badge May 9th. That Badge is from the previous 10 Game Marathon. Not this one. The new #9 Badge is for Hog Heaven Slots.

Pogo Bowl • Pogo Bowl Marathon

By A45harley » July 23rd, 2017, 11:43 pm

Hi. I was fairly certain I got this gold pin pogo bowl marathon badge on the first day I clicked onto all the gifts. I do not see it in my game profile while I am in the game, yet I go to the challenges tab below and in there it says I have earned this #9 Marathon badge on May 10th, and it's all in color. Can you please tell me how this would be possible? I re-activated it again and played a few games and no gold pins in sight, only silver ones. In badge central it is showing I won it also.
What do we do now?
Thank you
