Pogo™ Bowl provides a simple but powerful interface to make your shots. Start out by moving the mouse left or right to get the ball into the desired position. Once you have the ball where you want it, click on the ball to set the position. While holding the mouse button down, drag the mouse up into the lane area - you will notice a pointer being drawn as you do this. Move the pointer to the desired location and release the mouse button to initiate the throw. The faster you move the mouse and release the mouse button, the faster your throw will be. If you pause before throwing, the pointer will "cool" down (denoted by the change in color from red to yellow) and your throw will be slower.

You can bowl a maximum of two balls per frame from frames 1-9, and a maximum of three balls on the 10th frame. The following results are possible:
  • If you knock down all of the pins on your first throw, you get a Strike. A Strike is worth 10 points plus whatever you bowl on your next two throws.
  • If you knock down some (or none) of the pins on your first throw and knock down the remaining pins on the next throw, you get a Spare. A Spare is worth 10 points plus whatever you bowl on your next throw.
  • If you knock down some (or none) of the pins on your first throw and are unable to knock down the remaining pins on the next throw, you are considered to have bowled an "open" frame. Bowling an open frame hurts your ability to get high scores, but you can usually recover by bowling Strikes and Spares.

On the 10th frame (and only on the 10th frame), it is possible to throw three balls instead of two. If you Strike on your first throw, you will get two more throws; or, if you Spare on your second throw, you will get one more throw. The maximum score you can reach in one game (also known as a "Perfect" game) is 300 points. At the end of each game, the number of pins you knock down is converted into Tokens at a 1:1 ratio. On top of this, you can earn more Tokens for knocking down bonus pins or winning the Strike it Rich bonus. You can read more about these in the other sections of the help file.

Here are some additional pointers designed to help you become a more advanced Pogo™ Bowl player.

To get consistent scores, try to find a shot that knocks down most or all of the pins each time you throw the ball. If you can recreate a good shot, your chances of getting a high score are very good. You can also help yourself by leaving simple spares. Complicated spares occur when the ball "gets away" from you. It's almost impossible to avoid these moments, but try to keep them to a minimum if you can.

Although you do not have to apply spin to bowl well, Pogo™ Bowl simulates part of real-life Bowling by allowing you to add spin to your shot. However, unlike real Bowling, you can impart spin on the ball at any time after you've thrown the ball (but before it impacts with the pins).

Once you have released the ball, you can click and hold the left or right mouse buttons to add spin to the ball. The left mouse button imparts left spin (which makes the ball eventually curve to the left) while the right mouse button imparts right spin (which makes the ball eventually curve to the right). Depending on the speed of the ball, the spin may take effect sooner or later and may be more or less exaggerated - you'll have to experiment with the direction and speed of your shots as well as the amount of spin to perfect your throws, but it can help you get more pin "action" on impact or, even more importantly, alter the path of a poorly thrown ball.

Pogo Bowl • Re: Some rooms showing closed

I'm sure Pogo is doing something. They don't usually tell us why or what for. There are plenty of open rooms, so my suggestion is to find one and enjoy your game.

There is something to fix we don't get to even bowl the 6 frame you get a double zero on six frame and you go right to the 7th frame

There is nothing to fix. "If you are playing in a non club room then the sixth frame is for the ad whether there are only club members playing or not. To avoid this play in club member only rooms.

Before the Flash conversion, non-Club rooms got the sixth frame. The game paused for the ad/intermission and then resumed at exactly the same point where it paused before the break. There's no reason that non-Club rooms would purposefully be cut out of part of game play. All other Pogo games are played in their entirety between ad/intermission breaks. It is a glitch.

Well, the rooms are showing now. As a matter of fact earlier when I checked, none of the tabs were working for pogo bowl. They are now. All I could have seen was how to play. When I checked another game(match and merge) there was no problem with the tabs.

The rooms are showing for me.

Click on the Chat Rooms tab underneath the game and you should see the rooms.

If you still don't see them, sign out of Pogo and clear your browser's cache, history, temp files, and cookies.

Close your browser after clearing everything and then restart your browser.

See if that helps.

Pogo Bowl • no rooms

Where are the room? I keep looking for the rooms and there are none listed. I have to click play now which I am not used to doing. Is there an issue going on with pogo bowl?

After reading this thread, I went and play a few games in a free room and never lost the 6th frame after the intermissions.
I paid close attention, I counted how many frames I was playing and I bowled 10 frames every single game. My games were always back on the 6th frame and they never froze up.
(I made sure that there were free members playing at the same time)
So no, not everyone WILL loose a frame

I wonder if it is connected to the tab you are playing under.

I played in the teen rooms in a free member room while a free member was in the room and the 6th frame was lost after the intermission.

I played in the topic rooms in a free member room while a free member was in the room and after the intermission the 6th frame was played out.

Both times I was playing in the fast mode.

I am telling you that if you play in the regular Chat Rooms with regular members, NOT Club Pogo Chat Rooms and Club Pogo members, you will get a 30 + second pause in the game (while the rest of the player get an actual Commercial) and you WILL loose a frame.
There is no glitch in Pogo Bowl.
So, my suggestion is to find a Club Pogo Chat Room and play there. Then you will not get a time out, nor loose a frame.

Sorry, guys, I wasn't referring to the 6 frame problem/glitch after a commercial break, but, rather to the issue of the game pausing for the Club Pogo members. Sorry, I didn't make that part clear.
