The object of Rainy Day Spider Solitaire is to clear all of the cards from the Foundation. In order to remove cards from the Foundation, they must be arranged in a sequentially suited manner, from King through Ace. Kings are high, and Aces are low - you cannot play a King on any other card, and an Ace may only be played on a two. In the case of an open slot in the Foundation, *any* card (or set of cards) may be used to fill it.

Regardless of difficulty, each game of Rainy Day Spider Solitaire has 104 regular cards and 6 Bonus cards. In order to win the game, 8 sets of cards must be removed from the Foundation. Play begins by moving existing Foundation cards (if possible), and continues by activating Draw piles, typically when no other moves are available (although they can be activated at any time). The game is won once all 8 sets have been removed.

In order to move a card (or set of cards), the first criteria is finding a legal card to play to. Like most Spider Solitaire games, cards may only be played in sequentially order, from High (King) to Low (Ace). Additionally, sets of cards can only be moved if they are sequentially suited - that is, when they range in order from high to low and are of the same suit. Sequentially suited cards may be played onto cards of a different suit, but only the sequentially suited cards will be able to be moved as a group.

Rainy Day Spider Solitaire - varying degrees of difficulty:
  • Easy - only one suit is used; you will find that many moves are possible, and a very high percentage of games are winnable
  • Normal - two suits are used; you will have to be more careful about mixing suits, as stacks of non-matching suit are difficult to maneuver
  • Hard - four suits are used; even expert Spider players will have difficulty completing games, but it can be done!

Here are some additional pointers designed to help you become a more advanced Rainy Day Spider Solitaire player.

There are times when mixing suits is necessary for success. However, try not to let stacks with mixed suits get too long - they can become very unruly. The Free Column can be a good tool to free yourself if you get stuck.

Unlike other Spider Solitaire games, you are not required to play a King at the top of each Free Column. Any card (or set of cards) can be played on a free column.

If you're faced with two choices, such as moving a card from two different foundation piles, try both to see which will be the most useful. You can always Undo the first move to try the second one. Also, remember to take note of whichever result you don't go with - it could come in handy later on.

NEVER play an Ace at the top of the 11th Free Column! The only time this is acceptable is if you can find a home for it right after you move it or if you are entirely out of other moves - otherwise, you won't be able to play anything else onto that Free Column until you find a new home for it.

The Free Cells are a great place to store cards that are getting in your way, especially Aces or any card that appears on the foundation more than 3 or 4 times.

If you have to choose between two cards to move from the Foundation, it's usually best to choose whichever one gets you closer to the bottom of the Foundation. The more Free Columns available to you, the more freedom you have to move more cards.

Sorry, I don't know what to tell you. It still shows as active in your 2008 Album. My suggest would be to either activate different Challenge in the same game, or follow SataiDelen's game strategy posted above your post.

Win 3 games IN A ROW this week!

Just to clarify this, that's 3 won games in a row.
If you won 2 games and lost the 3rd, your progress will start over.

When I won the 3 game in a row, is when it went back to Zero, instead of 3/3. It only took three days for me to get three in a row!!

Thanks for the suggestions! I've always played on Explorer but I'm trying Chrome now and that seems to be better for some reason.

To add to this, if you see you're going to lose a game after you've won one, do NOT click on "New Game." Just close the game and then re-enter it and do this until you win your next game. Continue in this pattern until you see you're going to get your third game in a row, and complete the game to earn the badge.

You are posting to a member forum, not Pogo.

Pogo can be reached at the Help link.

For the most part, Pogo staff cannot award badges. There are a few exceptions in discontinued games.

Rainy Day Spider Solitaire • Personal Challenge

By Chante875 » July 14th, 2017, 3:52 pm

I chose "Rainy Day solitary" badge for a personal challenge. I did the work and it kept up with it EX... 2/3, until I completed it and instead of it giving me the Badge 3/3 it went back to 0 Zero!! It's on my Home page on the right side, showing now 0/3 ??
Thank you for fixing this in the future, so I will receive it. Personal Challenge: "Earn Spidey Sense Badge plus 2,000 tokens" not sure if I received the tokens or not?!

If it a white page with a !(with a circle around it) in the middle? If yes, that is a flash crash. If not mistaken flash did an update to a new version on the 11th. It's possible you got a corrupted download, if yours updated. Might try and uninstall and reinstall.

Have you cleared your Flash cache in addition to clearing your browser's cache?

The Flash cache fills up quickly so it's a good idea to clear it daily.

It's also a good idea to clear your browser's cache and your Flash cache right before or immediately after a long play session.

See below for instructions:

How To Clear Your Browser's Cache

How To Clear Flash Cache

Flash updated recently so make sure you have the latest Flash version: 26.0.0.137. Check your version in the link below:

Flash Player

Lastly, you could try using a browser other than the one you normally use to see if you have better results.

The most recent update to the Google Chrome browser to Chrome 59 has resulted in loading errors for many of Pogo games, specifically table games where you can play vs. a bot or a person.

We are aware of this issue and are working on a fix to it. During this time, we ask that you play those specific games on a different browser such as Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, or Internet Explorer.
