The goal of Pogo™ Sudoku is to fill the 9x9 grid with numbers so that each row, column and 3x3 region contains a unique arrangement of the numbers 1-9. No number may appear more than once in each row, column and 3x3 region.

When you start a new game, select the difficulty that works best for you. On easier difficulties, more numbers are visible on the board at start.

Playing is simple. Just select an empty square on the grid. The game will highlight the row and column so you can easily check to see which numbers are already placed.

With a grid square selected, you can choose any of the number tiles along the bottom. If the number you choose is correct, it will be placed on the board. If it is incorrect, you will suffer a point penalty. You can also use your keyboard to input a number into a selected grid square.

By default, you start in play mode. While in this mode, placing correct numbers adds to your score and streak bonus. Placing an incorrect number subtracts from your score and resets your streak bonus.

Press the MODE button to toggle between note-taking and play modes. Note-taking mode allows you to pencil in numbers without any impact to your score. Once you have worked out a solution, you can deactivate notes and start placing real numbers in.

Note-taking mode allows you to enter multiple numbers while you narrow down possibilities. To remove a number, select the desired grid square and tap the number again from the row of numbers along the bottom of the screen.

Pogo™ Sudoku also lets you click any number on the grid to instantly highlight all current placements of that number. This way you can easily avoid repeats.

Need a little help? You can use a hint. You get a limited number of hints per game, and any unused hints are turned into bonus points that get added to your score. It pays to save them if you can.

Once you load up Pogo™ Sudoku again, you have the option to continue your game if you've previously played before. If you don't want to continue, just select a difficulty to start a new game. If you do start a new game, your saved game will be erased.

If you don't want to finish your current puzzle, you can press the NEW GAME button to start a new puzzle in the difficulty of your choice.

Not worried about getting the highest score? Then play at your own pace and have fun!

On expert level which I now play all the time, games take a minimum of 30 minutes for me and i just don't have the time to do 30 minutes all at once - so I press the gear icon to pause it but I've noticed that since Friday if you go into "extra time" (however long it is you are "allowed" to pause the game and do something else) you lose the whole game.

Is that just me or is it general ?

Why is there a nag screen at all (where in play thinking time or paused game) ? What's it for ?

That is MUCH slower to accomplish than my preferred method, and time does affect the final score.

I otherwise do like the way it helps me improve my Sudoku performance. I'm desperately trying to keep my brain semi-useful as I get older. As I advise my under-40 acquaintances--don't get old! It ain't worth it! (of course, it is inevitable for people who keep breathing, but dang! it's a pain. Literally. *laugh*)
how do you place the box to type the numbers in?
I was using the arrow keys and THEN the number pad
to play, and I am nowhere near as quick as you are in
that method.
I can type just fine, but not use that pad at the right
side of the keyboard. LOL

I just tried playing this using the keypad, and I got the pop-up
as I was playing asking if I was still playing.

From what I can see, it is better to use the mouse and play to
enter the numbers than to use the keypad. I do not get that
pop-up when playing with the mouse to enter the numbers in
the game.

I have been playing Pogo Sudoko on two different computers--my Win7 and a friend's Win10--using an assortment of different browsers--Firefox, Chrome and Opera. It pops up in ALL of them, as others have said above.

The ONLY thing I can think of is that I use keyboard entries by choice--I'm old; I learned how to type 50 years ago, and how to use the keypad without thinking about it some 25 to 30 years ago. The coders were kind enough to leave this option in the game, and frankly, I probably wouldn't bother with it otherwise because pointing and clicking all entries is too slow for a game where time is scored. I GUESS it pops up because I'm not pointing and clicking enough.

I ALSO just tried to submit this as a problem with EA, and get a death-loading circle on the FAQ page they send us to. I can SEE the page, but it won't respond while the circle circles--in all three browsers.

Somehow, this doesn't make me feel like the valued customer I am told I should be.
