Bridge Single Player How To Play

You start with 13 cards. The round starts with a bidding auction. On your turn, choose both a suit and a number of tricks to bid. This number plus 6 indicates how many tricks your team will take. The suit indicates the trump suit for the round. The highest bidder sets the contract, and becomes the declarer and the partner becomes the dummy.

The first player plays a card. Then, the dummy's hand is then exposed for all to see. The declarer plays his or her hand, plus the dummy's hand.

Play continues clockwise. You must play a card of the same suit as the first card if you can. (If you don't have any cards in the suit that was led, play any card.) If your team is the declarer and the dummy, you will play cards from both the declarer's hand and the dummy's hand.

When each player has played a card, the person who played the highest Trump wins these cards for his or her team. If no trump was played, the person who played the highest card in the suit that was led wins the trick. (Aces are the highest card.)

The player who won the trick now leads a card. Play continues like this until all 4 players have played all of their cards.
